Institute for Imagination, Inquiry, & Innovation Conference

The Maxine Greene Center, The College of New Rochelle, and Borough of Manhattan Community College will host the fourth annual Institute for Imagination, Inquiry and Innovation (I-4) conference. This year's theme, Spaces for Possibilities: A Moveable Feast aims to address Maxine Greene’s interest in the notion of spaces for doing, attending, and becoming. The three strands  - Creating Spaces, Spaces for Change, Thought Spaces - are intended to explore issues related to ways that creativity, play, social action, inclusion, supporting the environment, etc. all require a particular kind of space.

Art Therapy Conference

The College of New Rochelle Graduate School – Division of Professional and Fine Arts will host a conference called “Art Therapy with Children: An Investment in Our Future” on Saturday, April 8. The day-long conference will focus on art therapy as a preventative tool in the treatment of children, with an emphasis on early diagnosis, which could significantly decrease the later development of pathologies that are more difficult to treat.

Strawberry Festival

The Strawberry Festival, introduced in 1972, is the single largest event organized entirely by the College's undergraduates. The concept of the Strawberry Festival originated in the mid-west during the 1890's as an American festival celebrating the ripening of strawberries, the blooming of lilacs, and the coming of summer. This year it's on 4/30 at noon, Maura Lawn, all are welcome!

Lee, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Black Entertainment Television (BET) Networks, a unit of Viacom Inc. and the leading provider of entertainment for the African-American audience and consumers of Black culture globally, will be the keynote speaker for The College of New Rochelle’s 110th Commencement ceremony to be held Tuesday, May 23 at 1:00 p.m. at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Nearly 1,000 baccalaureate and master’s degrees will be awarded to the Class of 2017 at the ceremony where Ms. Lee and Sister Mary Virginia Orna, OSU, Professor Emerita of Chemistry at CNR, will be presented with honorary degrees.
